FAQs

  • Can I get tickets on the gate?

Tickets will be available on the gate if the festival has not sold out. We highly recommend purchasing tickets online in advance to avoid missing out. We offer large early bird discounts for online ticket purchases.

Does a festival ticket include camping?

No, you will need to purchase a separate camping ticket for £1 per tent. If you wish to bring a camper van, caravan or any other vehicle for camping, including a van or estate car with a mattress in it then please buy a motor camping ticket for this – you will need one motor camping ticket per vehicle, not per person.

Do I need to print tickets?

Not at all. Simply show your ticket on your phone on the gate.

    Do children need tickets?

Children under 6 go free and do not need a ticket and those aged between 6 and 17 years inclusive need a child ticket. Also, don’t forget it may be cheaper for a family to buy a family ticket which covers two adults and two children aged between 6 and 17 years for the price of two adults and one child – in effect one child goes free. So we can keep a track on the number of attendees, all children, including those under 6, must wear a wristband. We recommend you write a contact number on younger children’s wristbands in case they get separated from you.

Do you offer free tickets for personal assistants or carers?

Yes, we are able to offer a free wristband to a personal assistant/carer. The person needing a personal assistant/carer should purchase a ticket as normal. The personal assistant/carer does not need to buy a ticket. However both people must enter the festival together and have a valid Nimbus Access card with their +1 symbol on it.

Do you offer reduced price tickets?

Yes, we discount online tickets bought well in advance of the festival. The earlier you buy, the cheaper the price. We also offer free entry for personal assistants/carers (please see above).

Can I get a free ticket by volunteering at the festival?

Yes, you can and we’d love to hear from you if you want to volunteer. Please contact volunteers@devaudenfestival.com. Don’t worry if you have already bought a ticket – we will be happy to refund it if you help at the festival.

  • What’s the festival address?

The main festival site is at The Hood Memorial Hall, Devauden, Chepstow NP16 6NX.

    Is there car parking?

There is indeed! Unlike many other festivals, car parking is free and is close to the festival. Follow the signs to the car park and our marshals will point you in the right direction. The car park entrance is located on the B4293, on the south west side of Devauden. Navigate to https://goo.gl/maps/mZrVc2qhJvn8PumeA (Google Maps) or https://w3w.co/tooth.blacked.tastes (What 3 Words).

    Is there disabled car parking?

Blue badge holders can park on the main festival site in the reserved disabled spaces. Drive to the festival entrance ignoring signs for the car park. Follow signs to artist camping (it’s through a road closed off by cones) and ask our marshals for disabled parking. You will be asked to show your blue badge. Please accept our apologies if the reserved disabled parking is full, in which case we will direct you back to the main car park – we recommend you drop off anyone who has limited mobility in this situation.

What time does the festival start?

The festival opens at 5.30pm on Friday and at 11am on Saturday and Sunday. The music starts at 6pm on Friday and 12pm on Saturday and Sunday.

What time does the festival finish each night?

All headliners finish at 10:30pm and the festival site will be cleared from 11pm.

  • What time is each act on?

Please keep an eye on our artists page for day splits.

Specific timings will be available on the festival weekend.

  • What time can we turn up to camp?

Campers are allowed onsite from 2pm on Friday to set up and settle in.

Can I park near my tent?

Yes, our friendly camping marshalls will guide you into designated pitches.

Can we bring a caravan/campervan/motorhome/van with a mattress?

You will need to purchase a motor camping ticket (one per vehicle).

Due to space and manoeuvring, caravans will need to pitch up on Friday afternoon and may not be able to leave until the end of the festival.

What facilities are in the campsite? Is there power?

Our campsite has fresh water, toilets and showers available. There are no communal power outlets in the campsite however if you need power to set up (such as inflating mattresses) head to the hall or we’d recommend asking someone with a motorhome.

  • Can I bring my own drinks and food on site?

You can bring up to alcoholic three drinks per person onto the main festival site. Wine may be brought in glass bottles, but no other glass containers are permitted. Please note we sell real ale, lager, cider, wine and many other drinks on site at prices well below those charged by other festivals.

You can bring a picnic, but please note we have a wide range of food on sale at the festival suitable for all tastes and we encourage you to support our food traders.

We place a limit on drinks being brought in because revenue from drinks is very important for the financial viability of the festival and enables us to keep our ticket prices low and therefore make the festival as accessible to as many people as possible.

Can I buy food at the festival?

Yes, we will have a wide range of food traders. In addition we serve breakfasts in the Hood Memorial Hall from 9am to 10.30am on Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings. Finally, the Devauden village shop in Devauden sells a range of essentials and food.

    Can I bring a barbecue?

You can use a barbecue at the campsite.

  • Is there somewhere I can go if I feel ill or injure myself?

Yes, the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) will be on the main festival site for the whole duration of the festival.

What do I do if I lose my child?

Please alert a marshal or go to the Severn Area Rescue Association’s pitch on the main festival site. We recommend you write a contact number on your child’s wristband – this will enable us to contact you if they get separated from you.

What do I do if I lose some property or find some lost property?

Please speak to a marshal. Lost property should be taken to the Severn Area Rescue Association’s pitch on the main festival site.

  • Can I pay by card at the festival?

Yes, you can pay by card for tickets and drinks and we prefer card payments to cash. Some traders may not accept card payments, so please bring some cash or ask for cashback at the front gate.

What will the weather be like?

Late May is regularly dry and warm. Over a period of 14 years, we’ve had one festival where it has rained. Even if it rains, we have plenty of coverage, with a big top in the main field and various marquees and gazebos.

Do you allow animals into the festival?

Assistance dogs are welcome. If possible please bring evidence that the assistance dog is required, such as a Nimbus Access card. No other animals will be allowed onto the festival site. We do not recommend bringing animals to the campsite.
